Megan and Lindsay sat on the couch and listened to their parents lecture them.
"And there is no way I'm letting any of you girls stay in the same bedroom as any of those boys you hang out with, uh what are their names...Jordan...." their mom rambled on, trying to think of names of their new friends.
"Mom, chill out, we're not going to do anything, not with them, trust me." Megan reassured her, rolling her eyes.
"Okay dear. I really just want you kids to be safe, maybe we should go with them." She looked up at their father.
"Hunny, you're making a nervous wreck of yourself, we can trust them, they're very responsible kids." Megan and Lindsay smiled at their father.
"Okay. Well I don't know, this is an awfully nice suprise from your aunt, and well I just hope you kids have fun with your new friends." their mom rambled.
"Okay, okay, can we go now?" Lindsay stared pleadingly at her parents. They looked at eachother, and knodded.
"Thanks guys, we owe you." Megan and Lindsay kissed their parents on the cheek and ran out the door, leaving their rents standing there with smiles.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey you're not going to believe this," Taylor said into the phone.
"What?" Faith asked at the other end.
"Lindsay and Meg's aunt or something, had this big ski condo up in Colorado rented for the week, but she can't use it, and since she can't their parents said we could use it." Taylor said excitedly.
"Hey that's really nice of them."
"Yeah I know, and she wants us all to go! Man I really have been wanting to ski again for a while since we went this winter." Taylor knodded.
"It sounds like fun, are they over your house right now?"
"Yup, you can come over if you want."
"Sure, c-ya in a bit," Faith blew a kiss into the phone and hung up. Taylor clicked the phone off and went back into the living room, where everyone was talking about the ski trip.
"That's cool, for all of the break?" Zac sat on the edge of his seat talking to Lindsay.
"Actually just till Wendsday, our parents want us home for the holidays." Lindsay knodded.
"There's going to be snow? It's like April." Isaac moved over on the couch so Taylor could sit down.
"Fake snow, I think, or maybe we'll get like a dusting." Lindsay shrugged.
"So what did Faith say?" Megan turned in her chair to Taylor.
"She sounds like she'd like to come, " Taylor smiled.
"That's good, what about you?" Megan motioned to Lucy.
"Uh..."
"C'mon go Luc," Zac nudged her.
"Uh...."
"She wants to go," Zac knodded.
"Shut up Zac, do you want to go?" Megan asked again.
"I can't ski!" Lucy frowned and threw her hands up in the air.
"So what? You can learn dude, that's what they have bunny hills for." Lindsay laughed.
"Ha ha very funny."
"You can stick with me, I got sick last time we tried to go skiing, I suck too." Zac smiled.
"Uh-uh, way too many people die from skiing accidents every year." Lucy shook her head.
"It's totally safe, I promise." Megan reassured her.
"I'll ask my parents." Lucy said hesitantly.
"Good, okay let's see if we can catch up with Faith." Taylor said getting off the couch.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey Linds?" Taylor picked up the phone.
"Hey, how'd ya know it was me?" She asked.
"Caller ID, " He laughed, "Why were you trying to prank call me? "
"Maybes." Lindsay grinned at the other end of the phone; she heard a beep, "Hold on Tay, someone's bugging me on my other line." Lindsay frowned and clicked over.
"Hello?" she greeted.
"Hey, is Tay there?" a male voice asked.
"Who? Uh...I really think you have the wrong number...ooh! Hey man what Taylor are you looking for?" Lindsay's eyebrows rose, this was one major coincidence.
"Taylor...uh...Hanson? Am I allowed to say that...? Oh crap! If you're a stalker fan you didn't hear this from me okay..."
"Hey, calm down, I know him, in fact he's on my other line, oh shoot, wait hold on." Lindsay clicked back over to Taylor.
"Hey, I'm back this is majorly weird but some guy is asking for you on my other line, I think he called the wrong number."
"Oh, it must be Ryan, can you put him on three way? "
"Sure hold on," Lindsay clicked back over, "Hey can I have you number, I'll call you back and put you on three way with Tay, cause he's in the middle of telling me something."
"Sure, 555-7392." Ryan said.
"Okay, talk to you in a bit, "Lindsay went back to Taylor, "Okay, his number is 555-7392."
"Yup that's Ryan," Taylor knodded.
"Okay, let me call him." Lindsay rolled her eyes; it was getting majorly confusing, and called Ryan.
"Yo." Ryan answered.
"Hey Ryan? It's Tay," Taylor greeted.
"Yeah, some girl just said that she'd put you on three way or something.... Uh..."
"Yeah I'm that girl! " Lindsay said.
"Oh yeah, hey." Ryan said. Lindsay rolled her eyes again, guys were so enthusiastic, she just couldn't stand it sometimes.
"Anyway, Linds, we're going to be leaving.... um...in two days right?" Taylor asked.
"Yup two days, and off to Colorado, no parents, no rules, just skiing." Lindsay smiled.
"Oh man this is so cool, I could use a break from my parents." Taylor laughed.
"Yeah, I know what you mean, I think that I'm gonna throw a party or something the last day, as we said, no parents!"
"Oh yeah, that's a cool idea! Hey Ryan, what did you want to ask me?"
"I was going to ask you if you could help me fix my sister's damn little keyboard, but now I want to know more about this ski trip rave going on here." Ryan laughed.
"Hey you're welcome to come, right Linds?"
"Yeah, you sound like a cool enough guy." Lindsay shrugged, one more person not that big of a deal.
"Great, hey Ryan, why don't you come over you can meet Linds that way and we can get more info for you." Taylor offered.
"Okay great bye."
"Okay bye."
Lindsay hung up the phone. " Okay...Mom! I'm going to Tay's!" Lindsay grabbed her coat and ran out the door.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What the hell is that?" Zac screamed.
"It's a ski jacket." Isaac shrugged throwing it at Zac's head.
"You CAN'T expect ME to wear this!" Zac held a white puffy ski jacket up.
"It's ugly, yes, will you wear it, yes, why might you ask? Well because you have to that's why." Ike rolled his eyes and hung a black ski jacket on a hanger.
"How'd you get that one and I get this one?" Zac looked at the coat.
"Luck, I guess, you should have gone shopping with mom I guess," Isaac shrugged.
"I can't wear this, it's not only ugly it makes me look like I weigh like 20 times more than I do, dude people will laugh at me."
"And I should care because?" Isaac started towards the door of the bedroom.
"Because I'm your younger brother and you love me." Zac pouted.
"Keep dreaming." Isaac pushed Zac out of his way and locked himself in his room.
"Hey that's my room too!" Zac pounded on the door.
"Sucks for you." Ike said back and turned on his CD player.
"What's his problem." Zac put on his jacket and walked down the hall. Bumping into Jessi on the way. She laughed.
"You look like the a snow person." she giggled.
"You'd better believe it I do, it's the new style." Zac huffed.
"Right," Jessi rolled her eyes and continued down the hallway.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Taylor sat on the couch next to Lindsay and Ryan; they were looking at maps trying to find the quickest route up to Colorado.
"Looks like we could stay at a little motel," Ryan said staring at the map. Lindsay looked him over, he turned out pretty good looking, green eyes and brown hair about Taylor 's age, maybe a little younger, he was about three inches shorter than him too.
"Yeah, and don't be talking to all the chicks in front of those asking you if you want a good time for a dollar." Taylor laughed.
"Okay, maybe a motel is a bad idea." Lindsay wrinkled her nose.
"Hey what are you cool cats doing?" Zac walked into the living room with a huge white coat on.
"Where in the world did you get that?" Taylor gave Zac a discusted look as Ryan and Lindsay laughed.
"Mom bought it at some store at the mall, you like?" Zac modeled it.
"No, Taylor don't like." Taylor shook his head.
"Shut up." Zac shoot Tay a look and back out the door.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Everyone can go!" Megan sang happily, dancing around her bedroom.
"Yup, from what I've heard." Lindsay smiled.
"We're going to Colorado, on FRIDAY!" Megan screamed laughing.
"Whoa, calm down." Lindsay laughed.
"I can't I'm so excited."
"Well, this friend of Tay's Ryan, he's going too," Lindsay said.
"Ooh Lindsay...."Megan winked.
"Shut up, I don't even know him." Lindsay rolled her eyes and the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey guys, what time are you picking us up tomorrow?" Lucy asked.
"Um around 2:30, right after you get out of school, Mr. Hanson's letting us use their van."
"We're driving?" Lucy gulped.
"Yup, we wanted to give Tay a little practice at driving." Lindsay knodded.
"Oh god no, If I'm going to die on this trip it's not going to be in a car accident." Lucy shook her head.
"It'll be fun, I promise." Lindsay smiled.
"Whatever you say," Lucy shrugged and hung up.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Around 2:45 the next day Megan was spacing she was so excited. Everyone was packing and getting ready. Meg was packed for a couple of days before so she went over Lucy's house to help her.
"So Luc, what's the dirt on you and Zac?"
"You know what? I don't even know, " Lucy laughed once she thought about it.
"You guys will have so much fun in Colorado. The last night we are there we are going to have dinner at the restaurant on the top of the mountain. Very romantic." Meg elbowed her. Lucy raised an eyebrow.
"I'll keep that in mind, done." Lucy was finally finished when she slung her evergreen Espack over her shoulder. She had been packing all morning. "Why don't we go over to the Hanson's and see if they are almost done?"
"Sure, bring your stuff we can throw it in the van." Megan grabbed a suitcase covered in bumper stickers. "Cute." she said looking down at it.
"The many gifts of Zac, he's so thoughtful through all his journeys wouldn't you say?" Lucy laughed look down at it.
Megan and Lucy walked to the Hansons' carrying all of Lucy's clothes.
"You guys ready?" Meg called from half way down the street.
"Yeah, just loading up the van." Zac yelled from inside the van.
"Do you need help?" Isaac came running to grab one of the suitcases Meg was carrying.
"Sure." Meg gave Ike one that was falling and took one of Lucy's and shoved it at him. "You can carry that too." Lucy threw one of her bags at him. Isaac almost fell over trying to hold all the stuff.
"If its OK, could we drive to me house? I need my stuff and I have to get the map and cell phone just in case we get lost. We also have to get Linds." Meg said as she climbed in the passenger side next to Ike and the drove down the street to Megan's house.
"I'll be right out. Taylor why don't you going and call Faith and Ryan and tell them we are coming." She suggested.
"OK." Tay jumped out of the car and ran in the house.
They both back came out with Megan and Lindsay's bags. Lindsay was still in the house convincing her Mom they would be fine.
"OK, we can now go and get Ryan and Faith." Lindsay was having trouble getting in the car. "Stupid..." Lindsay hit her head on the roof. She had just gotten settled when Ike pulled out of the driveway.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Faith had just finishing packing when Tay called. Now she was rushing to bring her stuff to the door and say her good-byes to her family. Soon she heard the van pull up and she ran outside.
"I have all my stuff right in the door then we can get going." She said as she shoved two of her bags in the back. Tay then got out to get the remaining bags so they could get to Ryan's and be on their way. Once everything was in the van Faith waved at her family and they pulled out and left.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ride was unusually pleasant. They only had to make three rest stops to get out and stretch or use the bathroom. The reached the hotel in Trinidad, Colorado at 11:00 PM. It took them about three hours to find a decent hotel. The first one had mice, the second only had single bedrooms and was booked anyway, and the third, Zac made a crack about a balloon machine in the bathroom and they were out of there. Finally they found a good hotel. It was all 8 of them in a two-bed room. They were all really tired so there wasn't much fighting over whom slept where. They probably would reach Steamboat around 5 the next day if they left early. Megan knew everyone would be surprised when they got to the condo.
They left at 9 the next morning, right on schedule. Faith drove this time and made a deal with Isaac that he drove them home.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They reached Steamboat that afternoon. They first had to get the key from the landlord. As the group drove by the hot tub Zac pointed it out.
"Keep dreaming." Lucy poked him.
"Wait till you see the condo." Meg said smiling.
Megan opened the door and dropped her stuff in the closest room. There were three bedrooms. One had two pairs of bunk beds. Once was up on a loft, basically open that looked like a huge shelf and had two twin beds, and another room that looked the same but was enclosed. There were also three couches and a pull out bed. The girls got the room with 4 beds, Isaac and Zac shared one room, and Taylor and Ryan shared the other. Everyone was planning to move around once and awhile.
Lindsay and Faith started to bring the bags inside.
"Hey you guys want some help?" Megan and Lucy ran up to help them. Zac sat on the bench staring at the hot tub. He gave each of the girls a pleading look as they went by him to the front door.
"Will you stop that, you look pathetic." Lucy hissed when she walked by him.
"C'mon I don't want to go alone."
"Why you do all the time." Lucy grinned.
"Not funny." Zac frowned. Lucy pushed past him. Megan walked up the path after closing the trunk of the van. Zac ran up and clasped his hand over her mouth and pulled her behind the house.
"What is your problem?" She screamed once he let go.
"I want to go in that sweet looking hot tub over there, understand? But everyone's ignoring me, so the thing is we have to create a diversion to get everyone outside...getting my drift?" Zac asked. Megan thought about it smiled.
"Water war." she said and Zac smiled knodding. They both ran in through the back ladder that led up to the huge window that went to the loft that Ike and Zac claimed. They snuck in and grabbed two of Zac's water guns.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey did anyone bring a blow dryer?" Lindsay came into the main room from the bathroom, "I forgot mine."
"I think I do...." Faith said standing up.
"FREEZE!!!!" Zac and Megan screamed bursting through the front door.
"What the fuck are you two doing???" Isaac screamed back.
"Even though I love you so much brother dear, don't think of this as revenge." Zac smiled and sprayed Isaac with the water gun.
"AHHH!!!" Isaac ran out of the house, as Megan and Zac started spraying everyone.
"Zac give me that!" Lucy yanked the gun out of his hand once everyone was outside and freezing.
"Hey what don't we use the HOT TUB...." Zac grinned pointing at the hot tub.
"Might as well, " Taylor shrugged.
"Well let us change." Lindsay shrugged and went to open the door and couldn't," It's locked..."
"ZAC YOU LOCKED US OUT!!!!!" Isaac screamed.
"You guys just chill out, I'll go get an extra key from the clerk." Megan smiled and started walking towards the main building. Isaac ran to catch up behind her.
"Now what..." Faith looked around to everyone else who was shivering.
"I don't know about you cats but I'm going in the hot tub." Zac said taking his shirt off.
"Whooooa! Take it off!!" Ryan laughed. Zac shook his butt as he took his pants off and climbed into the hot tub in his boxers.
"Damn it's cold." Lindsay shivered.
"I know." Lucy knodded taking Zac's sweater that was lying on the bench and put it on.
"Hey that's mine!" Zac protested.
"Get over it, you sprayed me, I'm freezing, and you're the only one that had dry clothes." Lucy shrugged.
"Then get your butts into the hot tub ladies." Zac said lying his head on the headrest.
"Doesn't even ask us if we want to go in." Ryan laughed elbowing Taylor.
"Yeah and what are we supposed to go in, our stuff is locked inside." Lindsay frowned.
"Think..." Zac grinned.
"Okay, let's kill him." Faith smiled and sprayed Zac with the water gun.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lindsay found a nice little pub down town. Everyone was happy to be there. Ike sat next to Meg, Faith, of course next to Tay, Lucy next to Zac and Lindsay sat next to Ryan.
They all conversed with each other about what they were going to do for the week.
"We have to go get our skies tomorrow. Then we can get on the mountain." Meg said joyfully.
Most of us have no idea how to ski." Lucy pointed out.
"Lindsay and I can show you guys. It's not that hard." Megan volunteered; Lucy kind of shrunk back. Tumbling down the mountain wasn't her idea of fun.
"Hey does anyone want to go to the pool with me?" Taylor came out of his room with his bag.
"Nah, I kind of wanted to hang around tonight, "Faith said, "But you can go if you want."
"I'll go!" Lindsay stood up from the couch and ran into her room.
"Cool, at least I'll have someone to talk to." Taylor smiled and kissed Faith on the cheek.
"Okay, dude, have you seen my sandals?" Lindsay screamed from the bedroom.
"Keep your voice down, I have this wicked bad headache." Ryan wobbled by and to the boy's room.
"Sorry." Lindsay popped her head out and smiled.
"You ready?" Taylor opened the door.
"Yup," Lindsay hopped out of the room trying to get her sandals on.
"Okay, bye guys." Taylor waved and they left through the front door.
-------------------------------------------------------
"Where's Scrabble, I like Scrabble, I'm good at finding the words!" Megan shouted up to Isaac who was on the ladder trying to get games out of the closet in the hall.
"I don't see Scrabble," Isaac said wobbling on the ladder.
"Well get something, Zac's not going to last much longer." Faith snickered. Everyone else had been playing strip poker. Zac sat on the couch pouting in his boxers.
"I think I've had enough of this game." Zac said throwing his cards on the table and grabbing his clothes.
"Whatever you say...." Lucy said winking at Faith.
"Well I think I've found something." Isaac came down from the ladder holding a board game.
"What is that?" Faith stared at the box.
"I have no clue, better not be a damn Oujia board, those things freak the shit outta me." Isaac mumbled blowing the dusk off the cover.
"It's like..." Megan looked over Ike's shoulder, "Candyland."
Everyone looked to eachother and groaned.
"Candyland?" Zac frowned.
"Let's just play it's better then nothing, " Megan grabbed the game and everyone sat down around the coffee table to play.
-------------------------------------------------------
Lindsay sat at the edge of the pool picking baby blue nail polish off her nails and into the pool. Taylor was swimming around, and came up to her. Lindsay didn't notice and started picking the polish into his hair.
"Hey," Taylor smiled, totally oblivious to what she was doing. Lindsay stiffened a laugh when she saw what she had done.
"What?" Taylor looked at her self-conscincenly.
"You have.... nail polish flakes.... in your hair." She said between laughter.
"I what?" Taylor brushed his head with his hand and went under the water to try to get them off.
"They're still there." Lindsay laughed.
"You did that on purpose!" Taylor yelled, Lindsay held up her hands in defense and still laughed. Taylor went under again and spit water at her.
"Hey!" Lindsay screamed and ran away from the ledge of the pool. Taylor laughed and jumped out of the pool. They both started running around the pool laughing, and continued laughing when they both tripped in a puddle and landed on top of each other. Lindsay continued to laugh and Taylor smiled down on her from his position on top of her, supporting himself with his arms. Lindsay stopped laughing and smiled up to him, staring his blue eyes.
No knowing what was coming over himself, Taylor moved in and kissed her. Lindsay returned it, both knowing it was wrong. The kiss lasted about five minutes, until Taylor's tongue made it's way into her mouth and Lindsay broke it.
"Tay, what was that..." Lindsay whispered and shifted under his weight.
"I...I..I don't know...." Taylor looked confused. "Omigod, I'm so sorry Lindsay." Taylor jumped off of her.
"Tay, it's okay, " Lindsay comforted him and they sat on a bench.
"Lindsay, promise me you won't tell Megan, or anyone, I mean Faith will like murder me!" Taylor pleaded. Lindsay knodded.
"You want to head back?" Lindsay asked, putting a towel around Taylor's shoulders.
"Yeah," Taylor knodded wrapping the towel around himself and wringing out his hair. Lindsay grabbed her bag and they headed outside towards their cabin.
"Hey is it raining?" Lindsay looked up towards the sky as she started after him.
"Yeah, I think so!" Taylor said throwing a towel over his head and starting to run.
What the hell does he care if he gets wet, for gods sake he just got out of the pool, Lindsay rolled her eyes.
"Hey Tay get back here I need the towel I'm gonna get phenomena." Lindsay yelled and ran after him.
-----------------------------------------------
Zac sat on the couch staring out the window as it really started to pour out.
"Zac, it's your turn." Megan reminded him, everyone was playing Candyland except Ryan who had said something about a headache and went to bed.
"Okay," Zac picked a card from the top when the power went out. He tried to make it out in the dark but just decided to guess. "Red, I win."
"You did not you little cheater!" Lucy took the card from him and turned on a flashlight, "Back to start," she read.
"Close enough." Zac shrugged.
"Okay, let's forget the stupid game," Isaac threw all the pieces into the box.
"Can I use the flashlight?" Megan asked, Lucy handed it to her and Megan put it in the center of the coffee table, everyone watched as it dimmed and flickered out.
"Damn Duracell." Zac muttered.
"Okay, there must be some matches and candles or something around here. " Faith and Ike stood up and went into the kitchen. The only light was the occasional lightening that lit up the sky. Followed by thunder that echoed off the mountains and shook the house.
"I hope this thing doesn't collapse!" Megan said, while all the glass in the kitchen shook. Zac and Lucy had moved up to sit on the ledge of the couch to watch the storm.
"Did you see that?" Zac asked after the lightening struck.
"Did I see what?" Lucy frowned.
"That! Something just ran across the path." Zac pointed outside as the thunder shook the house again.
"Shut up! Stop trying to scare me." Lucy shook her head.
"I swear to god...." Zac was cut off when the door flung open, and a strong gust of wind came through the window blowing things around.
"What the hell?" Isaac looked up and dropped the oil candle he was holding, and the glass shattered to the ground. Someone in a cloak appeared in the door.
"HOLY SHIT!" Zac screamed jumping backwards off the couch.
"Oh my god! Don't kill us!" Megan hid under the coffee table. Faith stood behind Ike, mumbling prayers under her breath. Lucy was behind the couch with Zac.
"Don't kill me! I'm too young! Please don't kill me!" Zac screamed. Lucy hit him in the arm, "Shut up!"
"Ike, it's us." the figure dropped it's hood and two pairs of eyes were illuminated in the lightening.
"Omigod! It has two heads!!!!" Zac screamed.
"Shut up Zac," a familiar voice said.
"Tay?" Faith stepped out from behind Isaac.
"Yeah, it's me and Lindsay, we just got caught in the storm." Taylor dropped the towel they had over them and showed everyone.
"Oh I'm so glad you're safe!" Faith ran over and hugged him. Lindsay gave a little smile and backed away.
"I wasn't afraid." Zac stated.
"Right," Lucy pushed him off of her shoulder, "Please don't kill me." she mimicked.
"That wasn't me I swear." Zac shook his head.
"Right," Lucy rolled her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder, while they still sat behind the couch.
Isaac was still island area of the kitchen trying to sweep up the broken glass from the candle.
"Here, let me help." Megan walked over and held the dustpan for him.
"Thanks," Ike smiled at her and swept up the broken pieces.
.................................
"Ok guys," Megan said as everyone sat in the main room. Taylor was sprawled out on the floor by the fireplace, that was nice and hot, Lucy, Zac, and Faith were all on the love seat smashed together like sardines. Zac was going on about something he found hilarious. Isaac and Megan sat in recliners by the windows in the back of the room. Ryan laid on the couch by Taylor. Lindsay sat alone in the corner, looking depressed. "What say we tell ghost stories?"
"Just one of us?" Ryan questioned, his voice muffled by the pillows his face was cradled in.
"How about Megan start one, and then some one add on..." Lucy suggested with a smile as she looked around.
A chorus of agreements rang out from the others. "Hmmm..." Megan thought wearily as she looked around the room at each person and then outside at the falling rain that had turned to snow. "I know...," she said softly as she got a vision of an old story she'd been told as a young girl. "Ever heard the one about the school marm and her fiancé?"
"No..." everyone said.
"Ok," she said. Ok, so, I'm making up a story by combining two, she thought as she began the tale. "A young school marm and her fiancé had just moved to the Midwest to start a new life together. Her career was just getting started, and he was a butcher. He made decent money. Anyhow, the day she was to start teaching, she was walking between two trains, for she had to commute to Wichita everyday. Just as she was stepping between trains, the one in front, backed up. Squishing her between the two. Killing her on impact," Megan said and continued on in the story.
"Ohhh..." Lindsay said as Megan described the way the fiancé went insane. Lindsay's mind started to drift away from the story and the present. Her thoughts went back to earlier at the pool. Why had she stopped him? She wanted to do that, but he had a girlfriend. Why? She asked herself. I don't, I can't like him. She looked over at him. His attention was fixated on Ryan who was adding on to the story. His face was outlined in concentration as he concentrated on the story. Lindsay noticed the cute way his eyebrows arched when he looked at something for a long time, and the way his eyes shimmered. His lips were pinched; he licked his top lip lightly. Awww... she thought adoringly as she looked at him still. She shook her head as she imagined kissing him again. Faith is so lucky, she thought with a small smile. I'm happy for the two. He really loves her...but why did he kiss me? Though, he stopped... I dunno!
"Ahhhh!!!!!" Zac, Lucy, Megan, Ryan, and Taylor screamed as Isaac gave an incredible narration of his addition to the story.
"Whoa!" Lindsay said as she realized the story had just ended. She glanced at the clock.
"It's half past midnight," Taylor said as if reading her mind. He looked at her for the first time that evening. "We spent an hour and a half doing that. It WAS a good story though."
"Yeah..." they all agreed.
"I'm going to bed," Lindsay yawned as she stood and walked to her room that she shared with the others. She heard everyone getting up and talking and heard the other girls follow. Since the electric was still off, there were no lights. Lindsay shed her pants and decided to sleep in her T-shirt that she had on as she climbed into the bed and curled in a ball like she always did. Just as she was about to fall asleep, she heard someone walk in to her room and lay something next to her bed and walk back out. What the hell? She thought as she sat up, but the light was far too dim to see anything. Who was that? She thought as she laid back down in the bed and fell into a restless sleep.
Lindsay's eyes fluttered open as the warm, inviting smell of bacon and eggs frying down the hall drifted into her room. Smiling, she sat up in bed complete with a yawn and a stretch. Her eyes went directly to her nightstand where the clock read 6:28. A full day of skiing and fun lay ahead of her. Just as she was about to look away from the table, her eyes fell on a white envelope simply marked 'Lindsay'. All the excitement for what lay ahead drained from her as she stared at the envelope. Suddenly, she remembered the dark shadow in her room and the way it had entered quickly and quietly and left just the same. As she looked around the room, the only signs of life were Faith's snores and the rustle of the sheets as Lucy turned over. Megan's up already, she observed as she reached across the table and snatched up the envelope. A small black slip of paper lay inside it. Written with silver, gold, and white milky pens was a note.
Lindsay,
I saw you and Taylor at the pool. What would poor Faith say or do? Makes one wonder doesn't it? You know what Taylor means to her. And after all, what would you do if you found out your new best friend were making out with your boyfriend?
Guess Who
Lindsay breathed heavily as she stared at the perfect, bubbly, girly handwriting. Who...? She asked herself shakily. It's no one here cause they were all together yesterday. Besides, a girl had wrote it, so that excluded the guys. Then which girl did it? She padded her way down to the bathroom with this in mind. She brushed her teeth and looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her already fair skin was even paler looking and her eyes were huge, making the green specks stand out. I look horrible, she muttered as she ran the brush through her tangled hair. As she finished her hair brushing, she was about to walk out of the bathroom, but realized, she didn't have any pants on. "Dammit..." she muttered as she decided to sprint to her room. Her clothes lay out on the bed. Quickly, she pulled on the Mudd flared jeans and the dark green sweater she'd wore everytime they were there for the past four years. She put her shoes on and decided to leave her long auburn hair free that day. The excitement was back; it had
----------------------------------------------
been years since she was this excited about anything. She couldn't wait to feel the wind whipping at her, the cold rushing at her, and the smell of the trees all around her. With a smile she walked to the kitchen.
----------------------------------------------
"Oh my god!" Megan cried in mock shock as Lindsay sat down at the table. "Her hair... she actually has long hair!"
"Haha," Lindsay said and rolled her eyes. "Very funny."
"Aren't I?" Megan asked as she flipped the two eggs onto a plate. Isaac smiled at her, his eyes gleaming with a sort of adoration. Megan smiled back as he came over to her and wrapped her arms around her.
"Awww... SICK!" Lindsay said and took the plate from Megan.
"You are a LOSER," Megan commented as she sat across from her sister as Isaac placed all the plates on the table.
"Are we the only ones up?" Lindsay asked.
"Ryan went and got some wood from outback. The electric came back right after you went to sleep last night," Megan said.
Did I miss something? Lindsay wondered as she looked at Megan and Isaac happily engaged in a conversation... but they were like... cuddling so to speak. Megan looked at Lindsay, blushed and went in the other room and Isaac followed. I definitely missed something, Lindsay decided. And I'm glad I missed it, she added to her thoughts as Faith walked into the room. "Morning Faith," she said and saw Lucy behind her. "And Lucy."
"Morning," Faith said cheerily.
"Sleep..." Lucy moaned as she sat down at the table. "Must have more sleep..."
"Is Tay up?" Faith asked.
"Not that I know of..." Lindsay commented and laughed as she saw Zac come from the loft in his boxers. "Awww... the beast in all his glory."
"Sick!" Lucy said and laid her head down. "I'm awake now."
"Tay..." the girl moaned his name sweetly, yet with yearning and need that surprised him. Taylor kissed down her perfect, smooth body and smiled as she placed her hands on his head. Still smiling, his lips touched the waist of her panties. "Tay... wake up...," the girl said as he pulled her panties off. "Get up Taylor! Hurry... you're gonna make us late," Faith said as he looked at her.
Taylor groaned as he rolled over in bed and looked at the clock. It was 6:48. He wiped the wisps of hair out of his face and pulled the blankets back up. As he settled back into his dream, the lump in his boxers showing his obvious needing to finish the dream off, Faith pulled the covers off. "Dammit! It's cold!" he yelled and grabbed a pillow to place over his boxers as he sat up. "I'm up now. See?" he asked her as he shook himself awake.
"Good," she smiled and kissed his lips softly. "Stay that way," she said and walked out of the room.
Is that girl on crack or something? Waking me up at not even seven AM. Ahhh!!! Women! he thought as he pulled on jeans and a t-shirt. He ran a brush their his hair and pulled it back with a black hair band. He sighed heavily and rubbed his eyes. In voluntarily, he walked into the warm kitchen. "It's cold," he muttered as he took a bite of his bacon.
"Awww... it's Sleeping Beauty," Zac said.
"Shut up Dough Boy," Taylor shot back.
"If you would get up," Isaac said. "Your food wouldn't be cold."
"But." he sighed and gave up and chewed on his cold eggs. His gaze fell on Lindsay. She looks so pretty with her down... he thought with a smile. I never knew she was so... beautiful. In a woodland...lady type way. Not in the oh my god, she's-fucking-hot-I- wanna-do-her-beauiful... only models and people on TV were like that. And she wasn't the sweet and innocent beautiful Faith was. But she was beautiful... kind of like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Oh my god! he thought, I'm comparing her to CARTOONS! I need more sleep!
"Tay, hunny, you're going with me today right?" Faith asked as she placed her arms around his neck and laid her chin on his head.
"I guess," he mumbled as he looked away from Lindsay. "When do we leave?"
"We have to be at the lodge at eight," Megan said. "So... by 7:45."
"We have to walk there... the trails are easy to take," Lindsay said. "Ten minute walk at the most."
"Okie day," Zac said as he went up the loft to get dressed. I hate that damned white ski jacket, he thought as he glared at the huge white object.
------------------------
Ryan walked in and sat down on the couch. He smiled as he looked at Lindsay. "Beautiful isn't it?" he asked the girl who was mesmerized by the beauty outside the window.
"That doesn't even describe it," she breathed as she turned and smiled at him.
"I could stay here forever," he smiled.
"Me too," she agreed. I never noticed he was so... hott, she thought as she sat next to him.
----------------------
Zac came down the stairs dressed. He saw Taylor siting at the bottom. "Tay, what's up?"
"Nothing," Taylor breathed heavily.
"Doesn't sound like nothing," Zac observed as he sat next to Taylor.
"I said it was nothing," Taylor said irritably.
"I was only trying to help," Zac said and moved away.
"I'm sorry," Taylor sighed. "It's just... ok...I love Faith right?"
"Right... I think," Zac said.
"Right," Taylor agreed and went on, "But... there's something about Lindsay."
"You wanna do her... she makes you horny... you lust her," Zac reasoned seriously.
"Thanks a lot Zac," Taylor said and pushed him away. "Remind me not to ask you for help anymore ok?"
"Sure," Zac said. "Don't ask me for help anymore."
"Smartass," Taylor said.
"Later dude," Zac said and walked into the living room, where Lucy was. He smiled slyly and went behind her. She didn't notice him. "BOO!!!" he yelled from behind. She shrieked and turned around and slapped in his face. "What the hell?" he asked as he rubbed his face. His face stung from the slap.
"Don't you EVER do that to me again," she breathed as her heart began to beat normally again.
"Sorry..." he said and sat next to her. "It was just a joke..."
"I know..." she said and smiled at her friend. He was so cute! she gushed him over and over. I wished he'd just ask me out! I know he likes me...
"You know what the cold does to guys?" Zac asked just as there was a knock at the door.
"Who's that?" Lucy asked.
"How should I know?" Zac asked as he went and opened the door. Standing on the stoop was a girl. Though what she was wearing would usually make him not even want to talk to her, but it made her hott. The Jnco jeans were large and hung off her in an odd way, but it was perfect the way they hung. The Pink Floyd shirt she sported had "The Wall" scribbled across the front of it. The Vans on her feet were old and worn. He noticed a snowboard leaning against the house. Her hat was bright blue fur. He giggled at the sight. It was an odd hat, but was cool at the same time. Her hands were covered with huge black gloves and her jacket was more less a black vest. Zac even noticed the yellow goggles placed on her hat. After he got past her clothes, he took in her actual features. She had long dark brown hair and blonde bangs in the front pulled back in her hat. Her eyes were dark and sparkling happily. Her skin was a dark almond shade. Must be Indian, he thought as he looked at her. Plenty of those in Tulsa... he thought as he looked at her smile. Zac fell in love. That smile... that's all it took. He was in love. Zac smiled at her. Her lips were perfect. She was average weight and average height. Whoa... he thought, the girl's hott... very hott. "Uhhh..." Zac said absently.
"Hi, I'm Kristen," she said and smiled again. "I live up the mountain... my dad owns the resort, condos... and everything."
"Hey, I'm Zac," he said. "I'm here with-"
"Linds and Megs?!?" Kristen asked with hope.
"Yeah..." he said.
"Oh my god!" she cried. "Where are they?"
"In the house..." he said.
"Kristen!?" Lindsay asked as she came out of the house. "Is THAT you?"
"It's me!" she said and hugged Lindsay. "Wow... you look exactly the same..."
"YOU look COMPLETELY different," Lindsay said as she looked at her friend's skaterish look. "Wow..."
"You like?" Kristen asked as she turned around.
"I like," Zac said with a flirtatious smile.
"But you were so..." Lindsay said trying to get the words.
"Preppy?" Kristen suggested.
"Yeah," Lindsay said inspecting her friend. Over a period of six months, can one change THAT much? The last I seen her in was an Abercrombie sweatshirt and jeans that she could hardly walk in. And her hair... it was so pretty before, Lindsay thought as she looked at her friend. Kristen pulled the gloves off and shedded the vest and the hat. It was quite odd looking, but it was awesome at the same time. "I can't believe that's you!"
"It's me," she smiled and sat down on the couch.
"Oh yeah, that's Lucy," Zac said and smiled adoringly.
Kristen turned and saw the girl dressed in Abercrombie, Gap, and Tommy. "Hi," she said and turned back.
"Hey," Lucy said slowly. Ok, she doesn't like me, Lucy thought. Why? Lucy looked at Zac standing next to her. She slapped him. "Stop drooling," she said.
"I can't," he said back to her.
"Is that AJ's shirt?!" Lindsay asked.
"Yeah..." Kristen said. "We're going out, three months Tuesday."
"But you hated him!" Lindsay said. "What about Kurt?"
"He's preppy..." Kristen shrugged. "Where's Meg?"
"In the kitchen with the others..." Lindsay said and walked with Kristen into the kitchen.
"Oh my god!!!" Megan said and ran to Kristen. Kristen engulfed her in a hug. "Kristen!?!?!"
"Megs!?!?!" Kristen teased. "You look the same!"
"You don't!" Megan said as she looked at her friend. "You're so..."
"Different," Kristen finished for her. Kristen smiled.
"I missed you too!" Kristen said happily. "You gonna introduce me?" she asked as she looked at all the staring faces.
"Oh sorry..." Megan said as she introduced each by themselves.
"Hello," Kristen said. I like these people, she thought, all but that girl in the A&F clad.
A chorus of Hellos rung out among the people.
"Hey... I hate to do this, but I gotta go," Kristen said. "I have to teach snow boarding lessons in fifteen minutes."
"YOU TEACH BOARDING?" Megan and Lindsay both asked shocked.
"Yes, I don't fall now... three first place trophies," Kristen smiled again. I can't stop smiling, she thought.
"Whoa..." Megan said. "You wanna hang out?"
"I can't today, but tomorrow?" Kristen asked with a feeling of sorrow. "I have to teach till three... at four I have guitar practice... and at seven I have a date with AJ."
"AJ Willis?" Megan asked.
"Yeah... three months Tuesday," she said.
"Are the same Kristen Marie Lane?" Lindsay asked.
"The one and only," Kristen smiled and got her gear back on. "I really have to go..."
"See ya then," the sisters said and the others said good bye.
"Later," she said and went to the stoop to get her board.
"Hey... do you want a person to go with you?" Zac asked from the door, he had on his gear, minus the jacket, he had on Isaac's.
"You board?" she asked.
"Not really..." Zac said as he stood beside her.
"We'll walk then," she laughed. He's cute... but Tay's a LOT hotter, she thought as the two started down the path to the lodge.
